Making Pretty Flowers for Indy Do Day!
Crafting for a Cause at the PLC! Volunteers from Roundpeg and ExactTarget Marketing will be joining us this Thursday, 10/2, for Indy Do Day to make beautiful upcycled paper flowers. #PEACEFLOWERS The flowers will be sold by our Peace Crew students at Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School to raise money for their service-learning trip to the Big Apple (NYC) during their spring break! The Peace Crew members volunteer with Peace Learning Center every Friday during the school year for a unique internship in which they lead peace education lessons to IPS elementary school students about things like the importance of staying in school, how to be an upstander, and being proud of who you are. These high school students are making a BIG difference in the lives of their elementary peers and now we want them to have a chance to learn about all of the BIG opportunities that are possible in their lives. This trip to NYC will give them a chance to explore one of the biggest cities in the world and learn about all of the jobs that exist in the nonprofit world.
