Flowers for Peace Indy DO Day: Thursday, October 2, 2014, 10 am Peace Learning Center’s Peace Crew is a group of high school students who have spent the past year volunteering every Friday at local elementary schools teaching their elementary peers about peace, conflict resolution, and the importance of graduating. After serving locally for over a year it is their dream to spend a week doing service in the big apple! We are in need of help creating flowers from recycled material that the Peace Crew can then sell to use as fundraising for their trip! Indy DO Day consists of several days when the people of Indianapolis get to know their neighbors, take ownership of their neighborhoods and take care of one another. It’s decentralized, ground-up, people-powered community improvement. It’s about pride, shared ownership, and stronger relationships. It’s about building the most civically-engaged community in the nation where every day is a Do Day.
